At Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia, we believe that a healthy society begins with a healthy planet. This week, our team was honored to stand alongside millions of fellow citizens as we joined Ethiopia’s historic “Green Legacy” initiative, contributing to the incredible goal of planting 700 million saplings in a single day.
From the highlands to the heart of Addis Ababa, the spirit of unity and environmental stewardship was truly inspiring.
Rooted in Excellence As these 700 million trees take root across Ethiopia, Swiss Diagnostics remains rooted in our commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service. We thank the organizers and every volunteer who made this historic day possible. Together, we aren't just planting trees; we are planting hope, health, and a greener future for Ethiopia.
Why We Plant: Health Beyond the Lab
While our daily focus is on clinical precision at our center , we recognize that environmental health is the foundation of public health. Participating in this record-breaking initiative allows us to live our values of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in a way that will benefit generations to come.
Our team traded their lab coats for gardening gloves to support:
- Climate Resilience: Helping to combat soil erosion and deforestation, which directly impacts water quality and food security.
- Cleaner Air for All: Trees act as the earth’s natural “diagnostic filter,” removing pollutants and providing the fresh air essential for respiratory health.
- A Shared National Vision: Aligning our corporate efforts with Ethiopia’s ambitious goal to become a global leader in ecosystem restoration.
A Three-Year Journey of Growth
Since our inception, SDE has been committed to “growing” alongside our nation. Whether we are advancing medical research with AHRI, providing free screenings at Saint Paul’s Hospital, or planting trees for the Green Legacy, our mission remains the same: to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our country.
“Just as we nurture a sample in the lab to find a diagnosis, we must nurture our land to find a sustainable future. Planting a tree today is a diagnostic test for the health of our environment tomorrow.”
