Advancing Public Health: Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia at the 37th EPHA Annual Conference

Participating in the 37th Annual Conference of the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) was a meaningful and impactful experience for our organization. Held from March 15 to 17, 2026, in Addis Ababa, this gathering brought together the brightest minds in public health to address the theme: “Harnessing the power of local data and emerging technologies for Universal Health Coverage (UHC).”

As an organization committed to diagnostic excellence, our involvement in this conference was a natural extension of our mission to strengthen Ethiopia’s healthcare infrastructure through data- driven precision.

Looking Toward the Future The insights gained from the 37th EPHA Annual Conference will directly inform our strategy as we continue to evolve. Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia remains dedicated to being a proactive partner in the journey toward Universal Health Coverage, ensuring that every diagnostic test we perform contributes to a safer, more informed, and more equitable healthcare system. We thank the Ethiopian Public Health Association for organizing such an inspiring event and look forward to implementing the innovative ideas shared during these three days.

Innovation at the Forefront

The 37th Annual Conference served as a vital platform for discussing how emerging technologies—including AI and big data—can be integrated into the local health system. At Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia, we recognize that the future of Universal Health Coverage depends on the ability of laboratories to provide accurate, localized data that informs policy and clinical action.

During the sessions, our team engaged in critical dialogues regarding:

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: How high-quality laboratory results serve as the primary evidence for effective public health interventions.
  • Technology for Equity: Exploring how advanced diagnostics can be made more accessible to support the goal of health coverage for all.
  • Ethical Innovation: Discussing the responsible use of technology in handling sensitive patient data and diagnostic research.
A Three-Year Legacy of Collaboration

For the past three years, Swiss Diagnostics has prioritized the development of reliable, high- standard diagnostic services that align with national health priorities. Our participation in the EPHA conference allowed us to:

  1. Exchange Knowledge: Gain insights from researchers and policymakers on the most pressing public health challenges in the region.
  2. Showcase Quality: Reinforce our commitment to international safety and quality standards that ensure diagnostic reliability.
  3. Strengthen Partnerships: Connect with fellow health professionals to foster collaborations that will drive evidence-based healthcare forward.

“Public health is a collective effort. By bringing together local data and advanced diagnostic technology, we aren’t just identifying diseases—we are building the foundation for a healthier Ethiopia.”
