Wellness for a Continent: Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia at Africa Healthy Lifestyle Day

At Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia, our mission has always extended beyond the laboratory walls and into the heart of the community. On October 10, 2025, we had the distinct honor of participating in Africa Healthy Lifestyle Day, hosted at the prestigious African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa.

This event served as a powerful platform to advocate for preventive healthcare and wellness as the foundation for a prosperous and resilient Africa.

Our Continued Journey Participating in Africa Healthy Lifestyle Day was an inspiring reminder of the impact we can make when we work together. Swiss Diagnostics Ethiopia remains steadfast in its dedication to strengthening patient safety, promoting innovation, and contributing to improved healthcare outcomes for all.

Proactive Health in the Heart of the African Union

The theme of Africa Healthy Lifestyle Day is a call to action for every citizen to take charge of their well-being. Recognizing that “prevention is better than cure,” the Swiss Diagnostics team was on the ground to provide essential medical services to participants, including:

  • Free Wellness Check-ups: Conducting vital screenings to help individuals understand their baseline health metrics.
  • Professional Counseling: Offering personalized health advice to encourage sustainable lifestyle changes, from nutrition to physical activity.
  • On-site Diagnostic Services: Utilizing our portable, high-precision technology to provide immediate insights, bridging the gap between awareness and action.
Building a Stronger Africa, One Check-up at a Time

For the past three years, Swiss Diagnostics has been a dedicated partner in the Ethiopian healthcare landscape. Our presence at the AU Headquarters reinforced our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and our vision for an integrated, healthy Africa.

By providing these services for free, we aimed to:

  1. Reduce the Burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): Early detection of conditions like hypertension and diabetes is key to long-term health.
  2. Promote a Culture of Wellness: Encouraging a shift from “sick care” to “healthcare.”
  3. Support Continental Goals: Aligning our local expertise with the African Union’s broader health and wellbeing initiatives.

“A healthy lifestyle is the greatest gift we can give ourselves and our continent. We are proud to contribute our diagnostic expertise to the African Union’s mission of building a healthier, stronger Africa.”
